"I was inspired by the beauty and weightlessness of jellyfish as they dance without worry through the ocean. 

Our lives are so complex, filled with daily struggles, interactions and emotions. I envy the simplicity and grace to which jellyfish live. 

I love to explore new tools and palettes to keep my paintings fresh and immediate. Feeling uninhibited by convention I employed the use of collage, acrylic paints, stenciling, inks and pen.

My thought was to capture the impression of movement through the water and to distribute messages throughout the painting.

I want people to lose themselves in the artwork, scanning the fine detail to discover text and images that intertwine in this unique painting.  Quietly, reflecting.  Perhaps we can learn something from considering this quietness." JoAnn Cutler
