"Purple has always been associated with royalty and power. I hang ‘Irises’ in my own bedroom.  It makes me feel optimistic that, in spite of struggles, my home can still be a place of peace, calm and beauty.  In this room, I am the Queen.  It feels like an inner sanctum whereby I can relax and rejuvenate from the stresses and cares of everyday life.

 In fact, the Iris flower also is symbolic.  In Ancient Greece, the goddess Iris was a link between heaven and earth, using a rainbow to make the journey.  It is hopeful to think that there could be a goddess watching over us at night to ease the passage to heaven at the right time." JoAnn
